Buyers and bidders
Humble's resident workforce is mostly hands-on. Retail employs 1,163 residents (14.4%), construction 1,079 (13.4%), transportation and warehousing 778 (9.7%) and manufacturing 762 (9.5%). Humble Oil and Refining Company, founded in 1911 and a predecessor of Exxon, gave the city its name, and Wikipedia says petroleum has been the local economic base from the start. Residents here are often both the customers and the competitors of trade advertisers.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport changes who is shopping. An executive of the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce called it a primary driver of jobs in 2016, some Humble tenants pay hotel occupancy tax because of it, and the city counted on about $13 million of $28.3 million in 2016-17 revenue from sales tax. The 16-acre IAH Humble Business Center adds freight, repair and staffing buyers. Hotels, diners, parking firms and carriers along Will Clayton Parkway serve people with a flight to catch.
Institutions and crowded categories complete the picture. Humble ISD had 48,552 students in 2022-2023, Humble Surgical Hospital opened in 2010, Lone Star College operates the Humble Center and health care employs 739 residents (9.2%). In Harris County, which are county figures and not Humble's own, roofing contractors number 295 and grew 44.6%, residential remodelers number 887 and grew 56.4%, and plumbing and air-conditioning firms number 1,184. A small advertiser in those trades needs tighter targeting and sharper landing pages than the field around it.

Reading the audience
Schedules set the clock. Only 6.3% of Humble workers do their jobs from home, against 9.5% typical, and 16.4% travel 45 minutes or more. Construction, retail and warehouse shifts mean searches arrive early, at lunch and after dark. Language is a second lever. Spanish is spoken at home by 36.7% of residents, more than twice the 17.9% of the typical Texas city, 18.2% were born abroad and only 13.4% of adults hold a bachelor's degree, against 31.3%. About 63.3% of households rent, median rent is $1,123 against $1,313 typical, median household income is $58,581 against $76,686 and 17.3% of residents live below the poverty line. Tenants phone a manager or a repair company, and they respond to ads that say what a visit includes and when someone arrives rather than to vague promises.
The auction is county-wide. Harris County counts 18,503 businesses in ad-heavy categories, including 3,160 law offices, 3,716 physicians' offices, 2,279 dentists and 1,720 real estate agents and brokers, and those are county figures. The city's own count slipped 3.3% from 2020 to 2023, to 16,237, so reminding past customers through Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) can matter as much as hunting new searches.
The campaign plan
Target the territory, not the name
Because several ZIP codes say Humble without sitting inside the 9.9 square miles of the city, we draw targeting around the neighborhoods a crew truly serves, whether in Downtown Humble or near Lake Houston, and add exclusions for places it does not. The search-term report then shows whether outside addresses still slip through.
Airport-side advertisers
