District campaigns
Each service gets its own campaign for a chosen district, such as Stone Oak, the Westside or Monte Vista, with ad copy that names the area and a page that repeats it. The report compares districts so weaker ones can be paused.

Get results in days, not monthsResults in days, not monthsThe common assumption is that a city of 1,495,295 residents is one big audience, so one broad campaign should reach it. In practice, a search from Stone Oak and a search from the Westside differ in language, income and drive time. Renters are 48.1% of households, 37.5% of residents speak Spanish at home, and the city covers 498.922 square miles, so budget wasted on the wrong district disappears quickly.
A dedicated account manager runs Google Ads in San Antonio on month-to-month terms, with no setup fee, for businesses from Downtown to Stone Oak. The work starts with district-level location settings, separate ad groups by language and service, call tracking and landing pages that name the neighborhood. Bing Ads or Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) are added when they widen the reach, and a monthly summary lists the calls, forms and search terms for each campaign.

City Ad Competition Index
45.2/ 100
Rank 121 out of 203 in Texas
Figures: ACS 2018-2022, Census population estimates, County Business Patterns 2022. A bar places San Antonio among the 203 Texas cities in this set and nowhere else. How it is scored: methodology. As of October 2026.
Location targeting
At 2,898 residents per square mile, the city packs many different customers into a single name. Each district below works better with its own radius, schedule and landing page than inside a citywide setting.
| Place | Targeting notes |
|---|---|
| Downtown and the River Walk | The core of hotels, restaurants and attractions, ideal for small-radius campaigns with hours, parking and walking directions in the ad. |
| Market Square | El Mercado at 514 W. Commerce St. fills three blocks, so vendors and nearby restaurants can run weekend and event-week ads with a tight location. |
| Pearl | A former brewery district with restaurants, shops and cultural sites, where ads can lean on reviews and opening hours for a walkable crowd. |
| Southtown | A historic arts district, a fit for studio, cafe and home-restoration ads that name the district and use location assets. |
| Monte Vista | A historic district in Uptown Central where older homes drive repair, roofing and design searches suited to neighborhood-named ads. |
| Westside | The Deco District area with murals and historic buildings, a place to test Spanish ad groups with their own landing pages. |
| Eastside | Home to the Frost Bank Center and Freeman Coliseum, so event-night food and parking ads can pace budget around the calendar. |
| Stone Oak | A far north side area with 33 neighborhood associations around US 281 and Loop 1604, where clinics, tutors and home services run separate campaigns. |
| South Texas Medical Center | A medical district about 10 miles northwest of Downtown, a target for specialists, labs and pharmacies with insurance and hours in the copy. |
Each place name is informal, taken from municipal, county or regional publications.
Customer behavior
Language changes the ad, not just the translation. With 37.5% of residents speaking Spanish at home against 17.9% in the typical Texas city of our set, ad groups written in Spanish, with their own landing pages and phone scripts, deserve a fair test next to the English ones. The two groups are measured separately in the monthly summary so budget follows calls, not assumptions.
Renters search in bursts. The median rent is $1,189 against $1,313 typically, and 48.1% of households rent, so many people look for movers, cleaners, pest control, repair and internet help around a lease start or end. Ads for those services can run harder at the turn of the month and soften in between, with copy that promises quick scheduling and a clear price range. A landing page that lists the apartment-complex areas served, the hours for same-week visits and a tap-to-call button respects someone who has a lease deadline.
Income steers the message. The median household income is $59,593 against $76,686 and 17.7% of residents live in poverty, against 10.8%, so ads that mention payment options, estimates and a fair range feel safer than a luxury tone. In districts such as Stone Oak or Alamo Heights next door, the same advertiser can run a separate group that stresses reviews, warranties and fast online booking.
Visitors plan ahead. Fiesta San Antonio ran April 16 to 26 in 2026 and the River Walk, Market Square and the Alamo bring steady visitors, so hotels, restaurants, parking and tour businesses can place budget in the weeks when trips are booked. Competition is county-wide: Bexar County lists 1,589 physicians' offices (1.89 times typical), 1,041 law offices (1.73 times) and 803 real estate agents and brokers (1.55 times), with about 7,195 ad-heavy businesses, so narrow ad groups beat broad bidding.
Campaign plan
One radius per customer base
Each service gets its own campaign for a chosen district, such as Stone Oak, the Westside or Monte Vista, with ad copy that names the area and a page that repeats it. The report compares districts so weaker ones can be paused.
For 37.5% Spanish at home
Clinics, trades and restaurants on the Westside and Eastside run a Spanish group with its own copy, page and phone message next to the English one. Calls and forms from each group are tracked separately, so the budget goes where inquiries come from.
For 48.1% renting households
Movers, cleaners, pest control and furniture shops near Downtown and the Pearl raise bids at the turn of the month and ease off in between. Ads promise a quick appointment and a price range, and negative keywords block do-it-yourself traffic.
Specialists, labs, pharmacies
Practices near the South Texas Medical Center run call-focused campaigns with insurance and hours in the ad and a tracked number on the page. In a county with 1,589 physicians' offices, specific copy beats general claims.
Fiesta, rodeo, River Walk
Hotels, restaurants and parking operators near Downtown and Market Square increase budget before Fiesta and the Stock Show & Rodeo, then pull back. Landing pages carry event hours and directions, and the report shows which weeks produced bookings.
Reach beyond one search box
Bing Ads offer another source of search traffic, and Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) can announce a seasonal service or a grand opening to households in Southtown or Stone Oak. Each channel keeps its budget only if it produces inquiries, and the monthly summary shows the numbers side by side so no channel hides behind averages.
For PPC in San Antonio, a city of 1,445,662 residents, the aim is not a single big account but a handful of campaigns, each with a district, a language and a landing page that match the person searching.
Buyers and advertisers
Around the South Texas Medical Center and the hotels downtown, resident workers are concentrated in health care and social assistance (94,905, 13.7%), retail trade (79,192, 11.4%), accommodation and food services (70,539, 10.2%), education (64,701, 9.3%) and construction (60,876, 8.8%). Business-to-business advertisers, such as uniform suppliers, restaurant equipment dealers, medical billing firms and construction suppliers, can place budget in the hours when these workers are at a desk and write landing pages that state the service and lead time.
Large institutions create steady demand. Joint Base San Antonio, USAA, H-E-B, Methodist Healthcare System, University Health and Northside ISD are among the area's largest employers according to a market profile, and Valero Energy and USAA are Fortune 500 headquarters. Port San Antonio, on about 1,900 acres, has more than 80 tenant customers. A business that sells to those workers can time its ads to shift changes, school days and the hours when hospital staff are off, and ask for reviews that name the neighborhood.
Trades look different. Bexar County lists 504 plumbing, heating and air-conditioning contractors (0.75 times typical), 328 residential remodelers (0.52 times), 333 electrical contractors (0.71 times) and 306 landscaping services (0.45 times), so trades are less crowded than medicine or law. A tight service area, negative keywords for job seekers and DIY traffic, and a landing page that names the district help a trade stand out, especially when a competitor's ad promises the whole metro and cannot arrive quickly. Reviews, photos of finished work and a clear phone number are the ad assets that separate a local firm from a directory listing.
Local workforce
Sector mix says something about budgets and daily routines. These six sectors employ the most San Antonio residents.
| Sector | Share of employed residents |
|---|---|
| Health care and social assistance | 13.7% |
| Retail trade | 11.4% |
| Accommodation and food services | 10.2% |
| Education | 9.3% |
| Construction | 8.8% |
| Finance and insurance | 6.8% |

Fees
The fee is flat, billed monthly, and depends only on how many platforms we run. No contract applies. Ad spend never passes through us: the platforms bill you for it. Above $10K a month in ad spend? Let us talk first.
Asked in San Antonio
One flat fee per month: one platform runs $895, two cost $1,595 and all three come to $2,295. Nothing is signed. Ad spend is its own budget, paid to the platform and sized from your numbers. Each plan is laid out above, and the pricing page adds the details.
Urgent services such as plumbing or towing in Bexar County may see calls the day a campaign goes live, while appointment-based services often take two to four weeks as keywords and pages are tuned. No lead count is promised, and each month's summary shows the calls and forms that arrived.
We start from what one customer is worth, how often an inquiry becomes a sale and how many jobs the team can handle in a week. For a business serving Stone Oak or the Westside, a smaller budget aimed at that district usually beats a citywide one. Dollar amounts are chosen together after the review.
It is worth testing, since 37.5% of residents speak Spanish at home. A separate ad group with its own page and phone message can run next to the English group, and the monthly report shows which one produces calls.
Yes, since Alamo Heights and Leon Valley are separate cities inside Bexar County, with separate settings and pages for each place you serve, such as Alamo Heights at 4 miles and Leon Valley at 6. Splitting them shows which city sends calls and which can be dropped.
Search ads reach people already looking for a table at the Pearl, while Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) can show a new menu or event night to nearby households before they search. Reservations and calls from each show which deserves more.
Location settings focus on the districts you actually serve, such as Southtown or the Medical Center, and the copy states the service area. Each month we review where clicks come from and exclude areas that send clicks without calls.
Common negatives include free, DIY, jobs, training and supply terms, plus the names of areas outside your range. In Bexar County, with about 7,195 ad-heavy businesses, the list grows each month from the search-terms report.
Often yes, because a narrow district campaign in Bexar County can show within weeks whether calls follow. There is no contract, so a business can stop if the numbers do not justify it.
Sponsored, labeled ads now appear for some people on ChatGPT's free and lower-priced plans, and advertisers buy them in OpenAI's own self-serve ad manager. Targets are coarse and the reporting is still developing, so a small test is the sensible way in. Google Ads stays the usual first move; ask us when you are weighing a ChatGPT test.
